Integrated Siemens Medication Administration Check (MAK)
Siemens Pharmacy MAK data exchange with Soarian Clinicals, Siemens Imaging and downtime MAR.
Project: Integrate Siemens MAK with Soarian Clinicals for Orders and Medication Administration tracking. Store the discharge MAR electronically and create a downtime MAR in the event the Soarian Clinicals or Siemens MAK system has a period of outage.

- Create an interface to extract the Patient MAR that was created as
an electronic print document from the Pharmacy server and transfer
the document to Siemens Imaging (EDM) where the patient data was
extracted to file to the patient record and an Image Pointer message
carrying an embedded URL is sent from Siemens Imaging to Soarian
Clinicals allowing the Discharge MAR to be available within the
patients clinical record.

- Create an interface to extract a 15 minute MAR that was created as
an electronic print document by unit from the Pharmacy server and
transfer it to a file share. A PERL script was created to dynamically
determine the UNIT and route to a unit folder on the file share.
